Happy Mother's Day!

I owe to my angel mother.

Mom and Dad and the Brooks Come to Visit!!!

We had so much fun, as always, with Mom and Dad, Becky, Steve, Sydney, Steven, and Tori. We went to parks, swam at the clubhouse pool, swam and Mom and Dad's hotel pool, went to Funderland (perfect for kids 5 and under, by the Sac Zoo), Old Sac, and just enjoyed each other. Westin napped very little that week and it didn't show. He was in a great mood watching and playing with his cousins and Grandpa and Grandma. It was sad to see them go.

Beware there are many, many, many pictures, and they are in no particular order.

3 Cakes

Cake #1...Loved it! April 12th was Westin's 1 year birthday. Man, time really does fly! It was a pretty calm day. I got sick and stayed home from church with Westin. Wes went to church, and then in the evening we gave him his first cupcake. It was a hit.

Cake #2...Hated it. We had a second little celebration at Grandpa Mike's. Aunt Whitny and cousins Aidan and Izzy were there too. We thought Aidan and Westin would love some sweets that night, but that soooo was not the case. I know we had had Westin in the chair for dinner, previous to the cupcake, he just wanted OUT!

Cake #3...Not real thrilled, but he did love the crowd singing to him and watching him. He was clapping and smiling big. I got it on video, but not on the pics.

Happy Easter!

There is a resurrection, therefore the grave hath no victory, and the sting of death is swallowed up in Christ.

With his head stuck in a book...

Brandan and Janette in Boise

Brandan is Wes's cousin. Janette is Brandan's wife. We've stayed with them the last couple times we've been in Boise and their hosting is ummm, yeah, awesome. Brandan totally kept Westin entertained. Westin even refused me to continue playing with Brandan. I cried. Not really, but it was the first time he has ever refused me. Janette wowed us with her baking skills. I'm still trying to work off those pounds. Really. We had a really enjoyed spending time with them and are hoping they will find their way out here soon to see us!

Boise

A couple weeks ago we went to Boise to say goodbye to Wes's Grandma Sallie. Since I have only been in the family a few years, I had not been able to spend much time with Grandma Sallie. The little time I did spend with her she made me feel right at home as do all the family. Although I know it is hard to see a person so loved leave the Earth, I was rather impressed that she had lived such a great life. She lived to 90. She was able to live with her husband (Les), in their house they'd spent the majority of their married life together in, until she left the Earth. She and Les had traveled many trips together. They had 5 kids, and more than a dozen grandkids and great grandkids. Her family gathers often and loves eachother. Many things I'm missing, but the point is...what a life! I know it does not end here for her.
